How much is a Ford Puma? Full costs revealed.

Thinking about buying a Ford Puma? Entering 2026, the Ford Puma continues to dominate the UK market as the best-selling vehicle, outperforming its closest runner-up by 16%. It remains a standout choice in a national fleet that reached 34,353,216 registered cars by mid-2025. But how much does it cost to buy and run? The NimbleFins car insurance experts have run the numbers on purchase prices for new and used cars, insurance and road tax. Here's what we found.

Ford Puma Price

The NimbleFins car data experts have dug into publicly available new and used car data to identify how much motorists need to pay for a Ford Puma.

As of early 2026, the average price for a brand new Ford Puma has risen to approximately £31,500, reflecting a broader trend where new car prices have jumped 39% since 2015. Beyond the purchase price, the average annual cost to run a car in the UK reached £3,484 in 2025—an 8% increase since 2020. This rise is largely driven by repairs and servicing costs, which have spiked 40% in that same period due to the complexity of modern vehicle tech.

Cost of a new Ford Puma

For 2026, starting OTR prices for the Ford Puma begin at £26,350 for the Titanium trim. It is worth noting for value-conscious buyers that the Puma now tracks roughly £7,000 more expensive than the now-discontinued Ford Fiesta, marking a significant step up in the entry-point for Ford’s compact range.

Cost of a used Ford Puma

In the 2026 used market, a 2025 reg (less than 1 year old) typically costs around £24,484, while a 2024 reg averages £22,295. The range for a five-year-old Puma is typically in the range of £10,000 to £16,000 for the majority of used vehicles.

These prices remain high as the median price for a used car in the UK has reached just over £16,000. Furthermore, the average age of cars on UK roads has hit a record 9.6 years, as owners hold onto their vehicles longer to avoid taking on new debt.

As with all vehicles, the cost of a used Ford Puma declines with car age. NimbleFins analysis of over 1,500 Ford Puma vehicles indicates that cars depreciate around £4,000 when back on the market as a used car in their first year, then approximately £2,000 the second year and another £2,000 the third year. Usually, cars do depreciate the most in their first year, then less in subsequent years.

Ford Puma Insurance Costs

NimbleFins market tests of hundreds of cheap car insurance policies found that a low-risk driver could pay under £500 a year for comprehensive car insurance for a new Ford Puma. Since insurance costs can vary a lot not only from one driver to the next but by specific vehicle, we checked sample prices for different variants. Those with a similar list price cost around the same to insure. But more expensive vehicles warranted higher insurance prices—not surprising, considering an insurer might need to cough up the cost of the car if it's stolen or written off in an accident.

Ford Puma Road Tax Cost

The road tax for a new Ford Puma depends on the type of fuel / energy and the list price. From 1 April 2025, the standard Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) has risen to £195 per year. Additionally, buyers should be cautious with high-spec models; if the list price of your Puma (including optional extras like the Technology Plus Pack) exceeds £40,000, you will be liable for the £410 'luxury car tax' supplement for five years, bringing your annual tax bill to over £600.
