How much is a Hyundai Tuscon? Full costs revealed.

Thinking about buying a Hyundai Tucson? The Hyundai Tucson remains a key player in a UK market that now has over 34.35 million registered cars as of late 2025. It is also benefiting from a significant consumer shift toward premium and luxury brands (which includes higher Tucson trim levels), which now accounts for 27% of all licensed cars in the UK, a notable increase from just 19% a decade ago. But how much does it cost to buy and run? The NimbleFins car insurance experts have run the numbers on purchase prices for new and used cars, insurance and road tax. Here's what we found.

Hyundai Tucson Price

The NimbleFins car data experts have dug into publicly available new and used car data to learn how much motorists are really paying for their Hyundai Tucson cars. Here's what we found.

Cost of a new Hyundai Tucson

In 2026, starting OTR Hyundai Tucson prices for new vehicles ranged from £33,105 for an Advance trim up to £38,105 for an Ultimate trim.

And if you opt for additional options and extras like premium paint, digital keys and parking assist, the list price can rise further.

Entering 2026, the Tucson's value proposition is framed by a market where new car prices have risen 39% since 2015. Beyond the sticker price, owners must factor in rising operational costs; the average annual cost to run a car in the UK reached £3,484 in 2025. This has been driven largely by repairs and servicing costs, which have jumped 40% since 2020 due to parts inflation and more complex vehicle technology.

Cost of a used Hyundai Tucson

As with all vehicles, the cost of a used Hyundai Tucson declines with car age. NimbleFins analysis of over 3,000 Hyundai Tucson vehicles in the used car market indicates that there is a wide range of used car prices for the Hyundai Tuscon. For example, there is a wide spread of prices for a five-year-old Tuscon, with the majority of vehicles falling in a wide £13,000 to £20,000 cost range.

Hyundai Tucson Insurance Costs

NimbleFins market tests of hundreds of cheap car insurance policies found that a low-risk driver could pay as little as £400 a year or so to insure an entry-level Hyundai Tucson, but that the more premium trim levels and hybrid vehicles might cost our sample driver around 20% more, bringing their insurance cost up to nearly £500 a year. This is largely because a more expensive vehicle would cost more to replace in the event of theft or write off—resulting in higher premiums.

Hyundai Tucson Used Car Price

Your insurance prices will certainly vary; use this information as a rough guide as to starting insurance costs and to see how they might vary by fuel type and trim level. If you are opting for the Hybrid or Plug-in Hybrid variants, be prepared for slightly higher premiums; electric and hybrid vehicles are approximately 25% more expensive to repair than petrol equivalents, which insurers directly factor into their pricing models. Hyundai Tucson Road Tax Cost

The road tax for a new Hyundai Tucson is highly variable, due to the dizzying array of engines, trims and list prices.

Significant tax changes took effect on 1 April 2025, when the standard VED rate rose to £195 a year. Importantly, new PHEVs like the Tucson Plug-in are no longer exempt; they now pay £10 for the first year and then move to the standard £195 rate. Additionally, many Tucson trims have a list price over £40,000, meaning owners must pay the £410 'luxury car tax' supplement for five years starting from the second time the vehicle is taxed.
