Insurance Factory Car Insurance Overall Review
Based in Cradley Heath near Birmingham, Insurance Factory has over 20 years experience in the industry and uses a panel of insurers to find the best price they can for your situation—even in the case of convictions, adverse claims history, high performance and modified cars, impounded vehicles, uni students and young drivers.
Customer reviews are very strong, mostly reflecting the buying process and helpfulness of the customer service staff. We can't say much about their features as policy documents are not available on their website for us to review since Insurance Factory is a broker—policies vary depending on which insurer underwrites your policy.
Especially for those who like a local Birmingham company, it's certainly worth getting a quote from Insurance Factory. You can get a quote from Insurance Factory by calling or going to their website or, if you want to compare their prices to the market, then go to our car insurance comparison partner QuoteZone—their panel includes Insurance Factory.
Cancellation fees are roughly in line with average cancellation fees in the UK, but since they're a broker you'll have to pay a fee to them AND the underwriter of your policy so the cancellation costs can be a bit higher—as are mid-term adjustment fees.
Insurance Factory customer service is open 6 days a week (they're closed Sunday).
The features you get on a car insurance plan arranged by Insurance Factory will depend upon the insurer and what you require. They offer a range including the typical Third Party Only, Third Party Fire and Theft and Comprehensive cover.

Insurance Factory Car Insurance Deals
Buying your policy around three weeks in advance is typically the best time to buy a car insurance policy—after this time, rates usually climb.
Paying upfront, annually is another way to save money, since insurers usually charge you (like a loan) if you want to spread out the costs and pay monthly. Rates will vary but you could save tens to hundreds a year, depending on your premium.
Where do you keep your car at night? Parking in a safer location, such as a garage or even a private driveway, will probably result in a cheaper quote due to the lower risk of theft. For other tips, see our research on how to get a car insurance discount.
It's always a good idea to compare the market also, especially when it comes time for renewal, to make sure you'll getting a good deal. Insurance Factory is in the comparison panel provided by our car insurance partner QuoteZone, a comparison website that works with over 100 brands in the UK car insurance market—using them, you should be able to get a quote from Insurance Factory as well as competitors to compare prices and see which companies offer the best deals in your post code and for your car.
Insurance Factory Cancellation Fees
As a broker that deals with a panel of insurers, Insurance Factory policyholders will pay an arrangement fee for a new policy or renewal. In addition, mid-term changes or cancellations lead to admin/cancellation fees paid to both the Insurance Factory and the underwriter. The Insurance Factory charges fees of £25 to cancel during the cooling off period and £40 after, which are similar to lower than the average car insurance cancellation fees in the UK. However their mid-term admin charge for changes is on the high side: £50.
In addition to the fees, remember that in the event of cancellation you are also charged for the cover you had.
Insurance Factory Cancellation Policy
Cancelling a private car insurance policy during the first 14 days means you'll get a full refund of the premium paid—if cover hasn't started yet. If the insurance period has begun (and you haven't made a claim) you'll get a refund of the premium paid, subject to a deduction for the time that you have been on cover. This is calculated as a proportion of the annual premium. In either case, you'll also owe the cancellation charges shown in the table below, and you won't get a refund on the arrangement fee. For full details see their terms of business. Also remember that you may incur additional underwriter fees that vary depending on which insurer holds your policy.
