Everypaw Pet Insurance Overall Review

Everypaw pet insurance offers a number of policies with a solid set of features—and often at relatively cheap prices—but be aware that customer ratings highlight some issues with claims being denied as pre-existing conditions (even where the vet says two conditions are unrelated). This is certainly something to keep in mind and be wary of if you are insuring a pet who has previously had any health issues.

Everypaw prices have risen noticeably over the past few years, but they still offer relatively cheaper quotes in many cases so are worth checking, however, if you're looking for cheap pet insurance. They cover dental injury and illness—so long as your pet gets annual dental checks, recommended work carried out within 6 months and the work is needed to relieve suffering.

They used to offer Time Limited, Max Benefit and Lifetime policies, and all three types are still listed in their policy wording, but we looked around their web site and got a sample quote and right now it seems that they are only selling Lifetime cover. We are keeping some information in this review about their time limited and max benefit cover, in case they resume. But the features listed in the table below are only for the different tiers of their Lifetime pet insurance for dogs and cats.

Is Everypaw Pet Insurance any good? Everypaw pet insurance products with higher vet fee limits rate well for features, and it used to be that their customer reviews were a mixed bag. But they're improved noticeably in the past year. We've read through the reviews to see what real customers have to say about their Everypaw pet insurance. Here's what we found:

Everypaw has earned 4.0 stars out of 5 at Trustpilot (up from 2.9 a year or so ago), with 3 in 10 customers giving Everypaw just 1 star indicating a bad experience but 6 in 10 rating the experience as excellent. Here is a sample of the more common complaints, which included claims being denied due to pre-existing conditions—as well as some praise. Of particular note are the positive comments related to the claims process, because that's what really matters in the end:

"Recently made a claim for our dog following treatment by two different vets. Making the claim was simple and Everypaw agreed the claim quickly and paid out promptly.

We had only recently switched to Everypaw as they had received good reviews and were far cheaper than the renewal premium quoted by John Lewis which was a 30% hike despite us not having made a previous claim for our pooch."

"Wouldn’t pay out do (sic) to a pre-existing ‘condition’ which the vet confirmed was completely unrelated. My cat had a couple of days of dihorrea (sic) when I first adopted her so I took her in for a checkup. They said it was probably just the change of environment and diet. However, they gave me some pro-biotics anyway. A year later she had a hair ball blockage that required significant treatment ~£900. After putting in a claim, they retrospectively added an exemption on her insurance for ALL gastro related issues and refused to pay out."

Everypaw pet insurance is underwritten by Pinnacle Insurance plc.

Everypaw starts working on submitted claims within 3 working days and in most cases make the payment within around 5 working days. They state on their website that 98% of claims are paid.

You need to submit your claim and supporting invoices showing costs and fees you've incurred within 12 months of the treatment taking place. If you don't you probably won't get reimbursed.
