Miles & More cards have been closed. Cornercards was to be the issuer of the new Miles & More Visa card in the summer of 2021, but as of February 2022 there still wasn't a product available in the UK. The Cornercard website says, "All UK members are very important to Miles & More and Cornercard UK Ltd. Both parties are currently evaluating options together." The review below is left up for historical purposes from the previous Miles & More card.

Is the Miles & More Credit Card any good? The new card costs £79 but comes with a decent welcome bonus of 5,000 (an offer that's increased to 10,000 miles from time to time, such as year end). Read this review to learn how the rewards and features compare to other air rewards credit cards in the UK.

Miles and More Credit Card Features

  • Earn 1.25 award miles per £1 spent
  • Welcome bonus of 5,000 miles (periodically increased to 10,000 miles)
  • Annual fee £79
  • Discounted £15 lounge access
  • Miles don't expire

Miles & More Credit Cards Review

The Miles & More Credit Card enables cardholders to earn awards miles at a rate of 1.25 miles per £1 spent on the card. Miles & More awards miles can be used on Star Alliance partners or other Miles & More airlines.

While the previous Miles & More card was free and didn't have a welcome bonus, this new card costs £79 but comes with a 5,000 mile welcome bonus, which is bumped up from time to time to 10,000 miles. If you're not in a hurry you might want to wait for the increase.

Unfortunately we couldn't find specifics of the card on the website, but typically you need to spend a minimum amount of money on your card in order to lock in the welcome bonus—so be on the lookout for this if you take out the card. We also discovered the Summary Box could not be found on their website or online, so we don't know information such as the APR at the time of writing.

Cardholders can further benefit from discounted access (entry for £15) to over 800 Diners Club lounges in the world. Furthermore, miles don't expire which you may really appreciate if you've had hard-earned miles expire in the past in another programme.

Miles & More award miles can be redeemed with any Star Alliance partner, plus Miles & More partners. Miles & More is the largest air loyalty programme in Europe. In addition, miles can be redeemed for hotel stays, car hire and a limited selection of shopping vouchers. Generally speaking, miles cardholders earn the most for their miles by redeeming them for flights.

When choosing a air rewards card, keep in mind which airlines better serve your desired routes.

Spending Miles & More Awards Miles

In addition to using awards miles to pay for flights, you can also book hotels, hire cars or redeem for shopping vouchers. Generally, you'll earn the highest value per mile when you redeem for flights. Redeeming for shopping vouchers, at say the Munich Airport or Heathrow, is generally a poor use of your miles.

We looked at the hotel deals for all miles and a combination of miles and cash to determine the value of a Miles & More mile when used to redeem for overnight accommodation. The data showed that each mile is only worth around £0.003, or .3 pence—in other words, you'll use 301-306 miles to save £1 on a hotel.
