Sainsbury's Bank Credit Cards

Sainsbury's Bank offers an array of personal credit cards with features including 0% on purchases and balance transfers. In fact, almost all of Sainsbury's credit cards offer both balance transfer functionality and a 0% purchases period. Where they differ is in months of no interest on balance transfers, months of no interest on purchases and the balance transfer fee. Choosing the right card for you will depend on your individual needs. With a Sainsbury's credit card, you earn extra Nectar points when you make purchases.

Sainsbury's Credit Cards

In analyzing Sainsbury's credit cards, we considered how features like 0% periods on purchases and balance transfers and balance transfer fees compare to other offers in the market.

Longest 0% on Purchases: Sainsbury's Purchase Credit Card

Consider this if you don't want to pay interest on new purchases.

Purchase Rate (variable) 20.9%
0% on Purchases for up to up to 27 months
0% on Balance Transfers for up to 3 months

While the market changes regularly, the Sainsbury's Purchase Credit Card supplies a longer-than-average interest-free purchases period: up to 27 months. Cardholders therefore have up to 27 months to spread the cost of purchases without incurring any interest charges—so long as minimum payments are made on time. In addition to the interest-free period, cardholders can earn 1% additional rewards on their Sainsbury's shopping and fuel, through extra Nectar points. You will earn Nectar points on other spending, too, but those rewards are only about 0.1%. If you are accepted you will receive the full up to 27 months as advertised.

While this card also offers balance transfer functionality, this is not where the card shines because the balance transfer fee is higher-than-average at 3% for 3 months.

Summary

  • 0% interest on purchases for up to 27 months
  • Earn 2 Nectar points for every £1 spent at Sainsbury’s
  • Earn 1 Nectar point for every £5 spent outside Sainsbury’s
