Holiday prices soar again with UAE, Cyprus and Egypt worst – cheapest holiday destinations named

The cost of all-inclusive package holidays have soared in price, with some popular destinations up by over 20 percent.

In 2025, UAE, Cyprus, Egypt, Turkey and Spain have all seen significant year-on-year price increases for a week-long all-inclusive family break, according to TravelSupermarket’s latest analysis.

On average, the cost for these popular destinations has continued to climb, with UAE seeing the steepest hike at 26%.

Trips to Cyprus saw a 23% rise, while prices for Egypt rose by 20%.

In Turkey, prices have surged by 15%, while all-inclusive holidays to Spain are up by 14% compared to the previous year.

Price rises for Greece and Portugal were more muted at 8% and 4%, respectively.

TravelSupermarket calculated the average price rises by analysing search results on its website for the month of August 2025. However, exact costs can change depending on location and time of booking.

Overall, holiday prices are now up approximately 45% since 2019, reflecting a permanent shift in aviation and hospitality overheads.

Cheap holiday destinations

Price rises are stabilizing, but that doesn't mean a well-deserved family holiday will get cheaper in 2026.

Among the popular destinations for UK travelers, Nimblefins research shows that a 7-day trip to Spain remains highly competitive, with a total holiday cost of approximately £577 per person, including flights and on-the-ground spending.

This remains more affordable than popular alternatives like Portugal (£654), Italy (£751), and Greece (£879). Cyprus and Turkey remain two of the best value options for sun-seekers, with an average total cost of just £531 and £580, respectively, for a week's stay.

NimbleFins research found that looking beyond the obvious sun, sea and sand destinations could see you bag a trip at a bargain price. We looked at the price of food, accomodation and entertainment at a range of places using figures from the Office for National Statistics, and paired this with the price of the cheapest flights.

Our cheap holiday destination guide found Romania (£345), Bulgaria (£432) and Poland (£520) to be the cheapest holiday destinations for a seven-night stay.

On the other end of the spectrum, Barbados, Brazil, UAE and Jamaica came out as the most expensive destinations.

How to save money on your holiday

  • Look at off-peak flights. Flying mid-week can be cheaper than going on a weekend or a Friday.
  • Explore other destinations. Our research shows Romania and Bulgaria are the cheapest destinations from the UK.
  • Book early. Demand is currently high, so experts don't believe prices will fall if waiting to book last minute.
  • Check the exchange rate. Sterling has shown surprising resilience in early 2026, gaining ground against 80% of top holiday currencies, including the Euro. This added strength has helped to offset local inflation in many Mediterranean resorts.
  • All-inclusive can be cheaper if eating out, alcohol and airport transfers are expensive where you're going, but you'll need to compare the prices to see if it's worth it.
  • Don't forget to buy travel insurance before you go. To get the most out of it, buy travel insurance as soon as you've booked your holiday, in case your flights or accommodation is affected before you get there.
